2024 ReMatch+ intern Yash (Jan) Iyer, mentored by postdoctoral fellow Xia Li under faculty adviser Professor Leo Donner, recently presented his work at the 2025 American Meteorological Society (AMS) Annual Meeting in New Orleans. He earned second place for his oral presentation of his research. His talk, titled “Cracking Arctic Sea Ice by Weather Patterns,” was a great success and is based on Yash and Xia's research findings from his hard work during the ReMatch+ program and afterwards. This achievement is particularly impressive considering that the vast majority of the student presentations at AMS are from graduate students with significantly more experience.
