Undergraduate Major Honors Mathematics

Personal Bio I am originally from Vancouver, Canada and I did my undergraduate in honors math at the University of British Columbia. I was originally planning on being a physics major until I took my first real analysis course (taught using Rudin's little book) and I changed major and have been studying mathematics ever since. During my undergrad I spent a year on exchange at Ecole Polytechnique, and for the 2015-2016 year I was away at Oxford University.
Fun Fact I have rode a motorcycle since I was 16.
Research Keywords Additive Combinatorics
Research Pitch The focus of this project would be on various extremal problems in combinatorics related to the Shannon Capacity of Hypergraphs. In May 2016, there was a major breakthrough in this area due to Croot-Lev-Pach and Ellenberg-Gijswijt who obtained strong upper bounds on the Capset problem. Tao reformulated their approach in what is now known as the "Slice Rank Method." The goal of this project would be to investigate the corresponding lower bounds.
